I feel is the best entry Fishfinder on the market. Being new to Florida and just coming down from NY I had no idea of what kind of fishing was being done here. I was very excited to give the freshwater fishing a try in the many lakes Florida has to offer.
I lived in Kansas for many years and when I moved back to NY I really missed the freshwater fishing.
I just went driving this weekend looking for fishing spots around my area and found a huge lake only 30 minutes from me.
Understand, I’ve never fished in this lake and I Had done some research on Fishfinders and thought this would be a great time to give it a try.
After doing more research on Fishfinders I was getting more confused by the minute, Portable, Single Beam, Sonar’s, my head was spinning with terminology I never heard before.
So I hit Google and started the research and now have a fairly good understanding of Fishfinders and the terminology that goes along with them.
Of course, I still wasn’t sure it was for me so I went on a search for a basic entry Fishfinder that would suit my needs without breaking the bank. What I found was A Fishfinder that suited all my needs at a price I could afford.
Now, this might not be the one for you but if you’re looking for an easy setup and easy to read Fishfinder, this is a great one, and the best part is it’s below $100. The Humminbird PiranhaMAX 165 Single Beam Fishfinder offers an enormous amount of value for the price, with all the features found on much more expensive fish finders. This is a great deal for under $100.00. When I was doing the research it was apparent that the Humminbird is a very reputable brand.
With a 4 inch 8 level grayscale display and good pixel resolution, plus Single Beam for wide and narrow cone return how could I go wrong? It was perfect for me. Would I like..Portable….Color..etc. Of course but this met my needs just to see how it would do and I didn’t have to pay a small fortune to find out.
It had a lot of features the more expensive Fishfinders had such as Single Beam sonar, programmable fish and depth alarms and backlighting to just mention a few of Its features. I feel you can’t go wrong with this Fishfinder with all the features it has to offer.
